The Death of HM Queen Elizabeth II
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died after 70 years on the throne, with Her death announced by Buckingham Palace on the evening of Thursday, 8 September 2022.
Like all in our country, we are deeply saddened at Her passing. Over the past 8 decades, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been dedicated to the service of our country and the Commonwealth, demonstrating an enormous sense of duty and commitment. During Her reign, she has been a figurehead of national unity and stability during a time of immense change.
As we join the Nation in mourning, we thank Her for Her extraordinary lifelong service to our country and the Commonwealth. At this difficult time, we extend our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to The Royal Family
Monday, 19 September, the date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, has been declared as a national bank holiday here in the UK and will mark the final day of the period of national mourning. Out of respect, our offices will be closed that day, reopening, as usual, the following day.
