EFT: | Ideally all payments should be made by Electronic Bank Transfer (EFT/BACS). |

Cheque: | Cheque payment is an option, but only when drawn on a UK Clearing Bank and in GBP £. |
NB: It should be noted that our bank insist on 5 to 7 working days to process such payments and we will not release orders until the funds have cleared our account. | |
Letter of Credit: | As a general rule we do not accept payment by Letter of Credit unless the order value is in excess of US $250,000. |
NB: When using this form of payment we advise that the Letter of Credit must be confirmed by a UK Clearing Bank, being 100% payable at sight with all bank charges to the openers account. | |
One of the most common questions we get asked is what exactly is the difference between a Voltage Stabiliser and a Power Line Conditioner. Below you’ll find a list of some of the more common terms we refer to, along with an explanation of what each means.

EXW | Ex-Works / Packed (named place of collection in country of export) | ||
Sinalda UK makes the goods available at our factory or distribution hub for collection. Goods are supplied export packed, being suitable for sea or airfreight. The buyer is responsible for uploading. | |||
The buyer is responsible for clearing the goods for export and pays all transportation costs and also bears the risks for bringing the goods to their final destination. | |||
Sinalda UK does not load the goods on the collecting vehicles and doesn't clear them for export. If we do load the goods we would do so at buyer's risk and cost. If parties wish us to be responsible for the loading of the goods on departure and to bear the risk and all costs of such loading, this must be made clear in writing at the time of purchase. | |||
FCA | Free Carrier (named place of delivery in country of export) | ||
Sinalda UK delivers the goods, cleared for export, to the buyer's designated carrier / freight handling agents at a named and defined location in the country of export. Offloading of the goods is the responsibility of the buyer. | |||
FOB | Free on Board (named sea port in country of export) | ||
Sinalda UK is responsible for clearing the goods for export and loading the goods on board a vessel designated by the buyer. | |||
Basically Sinalda UK arranges for the transportation of goods to the port and pays for uploading onto the vessel. The passing of risk from Sinalda UK to the buyer occurs when the goods pass the ship's rail at the port of shipment. | |||
The buyer pays for all subsequent costs - i.e. marine freight transportation, insurance and DDP Charges (Clearance, Handling, Import Duties/Taxes & Local Delivery Charges). | |||
CPT | Carriage Paid To (named destination Airport) | ||
Sinalda UK pays for carriage to the named destination airport. | |||
Insurance for the goods is NOT included and is the responsibility of the buyer. Risk transfers to the buyer upon the handing over of goods to the first freight handling agent / courier at the place of shipment in the country of export. | |||
On arrival at the destination airport the buyer is responsible for clearing and arranging delivery of the goods to the final destination and is responsible for paying all DDP Charges (Clearance, Handling, Import Duties/Taxes & Local Delivery Charges). | |||
CFR | Cost and Freight (named destination Seaport or Container Freight Station ) | ||
Sinalda UK pays for carriage to the named destination sea port or container freight station. | |||
Insurance for the goods is NOT included and is the responsibility of the buyer. Risk is transferred to the buyer once the goods are loaded on the vessel. | |||
On arrival at the destination sea port or container freight station the buyer is responsible for clearing and arranging delivery of the goods to the final destination and is responsible for paying all arising DDP Charges (Clearance, Handling, Import Duties/Taxes & Local Delivery Charges). | |||
CIP | Carriage and Insurance Paid to (named destination seaport / container freight station or airport) | ||
Exactly the same as CPT or CFR except that Sinalda UK in addition procures and pays for the insurance to the destination port (sea/air) or container freight station. | |||
On arrival the buyer is responsible for clearing and arranging delivery of the goods to the final destination and is responsible for paying all arising DDP Charges (Clearance, Handling, Import Duties/Taxes & Local Delivery Charges). | |||
DAP | Delivered at Place (named place of destination) | ||
Sinalda UK pays for carriage to the named destination place and assumes all risks prior to the point that the goods are ready for offloading by the buyer. Customs Clearance, Import Duties & Taxes and any applicable local Sales Taxes are the responsibility of the Buyer. | |||
DDU | Delivered Duty Unpaid (named place of destination) | ||
Sinalda (UK) pays for carriage to the named destination place and covers any associated Customs Clearance costs. Sinalda assumes all risks prior to the point that the goods are ready for offloading by the buyer. Any Import Duties / Taxes & local Sales Taxes applicable on importation would be for the account of the Buyer. | |||
NB: These are the terms typically utilised / applied when shipping via DHL Express, FedEx or UPS. | |||
DDP | Delivered Duty Paid (named place of destination) | ||
Sinalda UK is responsible for delivering the goods to the named destination place in the country of the buyer, and pays all costs in bringing the goods to the destination - including import duties and taxes. Sinalda UK is not responsible for offloading at the destination. | |||
